Otakon was fantastic, despite the lack of sleep! I made enough money to pay my rent for august, sold another 8 Macchina books (despite not having any on hand) and took an assload of commissions!

I can't quite rest easy yet, though! Macchina books arrive tomorrow, I want to update my comic tonight and I have 5 commissions that need to be finished and mailed out.

I haven't even unpacked yet! I got home, took a shower and immediately had to head out to dinner at 7. I got home at 9:30 and passed out until work in the morning! It feels awesome to sleep in my own bed again! :D

Definitely doing Otakon again next year. Dizziness invited me to participate in NekoCon which isn't too far from my place! I'm going to check out the site and calculate the expenses to see if it's something I can do. K-pod is willing to split the table, so who knows! :D 

Lulu is offering a sale on bulk orders of comic sized books that is just too good for me to not try to hit, and it's only going on until July 14th, so I thought I would see if maybe I can get enough preorders for me to do this!

I've recently created a PDF for my graphic novel La Macchina Bellica and have sent it off to Lulu to get a proof copy.

Boo. Now I'm caught up on the One Piece anime too, so I have nothing else to watch. D: There needs to be more episodes so that I may watch them, and more manga too! I wish I knew japanese so I could understand the raws.

Shipping

Each print will be shipped between two pieces of cardboard, wrapped in brown paper. Shipping day is usually Saturday (my day off). Shipping is $3 via first class mail. Priority will be $5. International will be $9 for international unregistered airmail.

I accept paypal (non-cc as I only have a personal account, so this can only be from paypal balance or bank account- I do accept e-checks but I will not get started until the payment has cleared), money order, personal check (2 weeks to clear) and well-concealed cash (at your own risk).

Soon, I will be putting up for sale some doll items (Extra wigs, eyes, ect) and I will be rooting through my anime figures in the attic upstairs and putting them up for sale. They have been up there for at least a year and a half. I'm totally not going to miss them.

17 hours of printing labor (and probably 3 hours of drawing the original image) and I have completed the color layers of my screen!

I'm going to use photo emulsion for the black lineart, so bear in mind this is just the color underneath.

I also discovered today that next semester (Fall 08) they are adding a Printmaking curriculum to the Art BFA degree programs. I'm definitely going to be changing my core to printmaking.

As of right now I only have 8 classes left until graduation (but at 2 a semester it will take me 2 years max) but if I change my major I will only have 7 classes left to take (since I've already taken two printmaking levels)!

I'm excited! I hope it all goes through!

I'm feeling pretty good about things. My Gankutsuou plate is almost complete (painting it), and I'm going to finish acid-ing and printing my Harry Potter and Whitemane plates today.

I have also done alot of sketches and some inks. I'm working (and have been for some time now) on character sketches of my Macchina players. I'm trying to catch up on some COMs for the rpg, as well as doing everything else I need to do.

I'm trying to find some building references so I can pencil in the buildings to the comic I'm doing, so I can ink that shit on the plane. Jess wants me to bring my stuff to Tokyopop to look at, even though it's incomplete, to get a critique. But .. I haven't drawn any buildings. I hate them, so i wait until the end to do them >_<. And since I procrastinated so much, I have to get them done this go round. I kind of don't want to go up there with half-finished shit for them to look at.

Anyways, so I'm going to pick up the plate for my What's Your Ship thing. They have ONE plate left at the bookstore, I'm going to go on my lunchbreak and check it out. Once I get some free time after the con, I'm going to have to cut that plate into 4 X 3 peices. I decided that I might have cornered a nice little nitch in the market for prints. No one wants cheap, shitty computer printed prints. Instead, they get REAL limited edition, sweat blood and tears prints, fresh off a printing press! OLD SKOOL YO.

After I come back from the con, I'm going to work on my ship drawings and doing all the legwork for the plates (cutting, beveling and applying contact paper to the back).

Since I've gotten hard x core into printmaking, I decided I'm going to make small 4 X 3 plates of my what's your ship pairings that I made for Otakon 04. They won't fit in a keychain, instead they'll be mounted on foamcore and wrapped so you can put them on your wall.

I'm not going to be starting this until after Anime Expo, since I'm working on the prints FOR anime expo, but I'm hoping to be able to make these for sale on my website or next time I go to a con (whenever THAT is).

I took everyone's suggestions on my deviation into account. I can cut 18 plates out of the one sheet of copper. I took out the least popular pairings from last time, and added a few more from my suggestion list. This is what I have:

I still need suggestions for two more. I am also n ot big into the fanfiction circuit, so if you all would be so kind as to comment and tell me which have the biggest fanbase?

I know for sure harry X draco and harry X snape, because they sold out in like, 5 minutes. But which other ones? i need to know how large to make my editions (though I think 200 is the most I can pull per plate without losing quality).

I finished three peices, but for some reason, I don't think they're as good as what I've churned out, and some of the ones I'm still working on.

For that reason, I didn't post them on devart.

I mean, I like them, but they aren't as holycrapthisrocks as the stuff I've put out in the past month or so. I REALLY liked the inked version, but when I added in color, I messed up somehow. It just doesn't look.... good. Blarg.

I have a couple more things to scan that are a bit cooler/more awesome. But I attribute my lack of pizzaz to the fact I have one month left until school ends, and holy crap I have alot of work to do this summer.

I'm stretched pretty thin right now. Currently have one etching to work on. I got a half-day at work tomorrow, so I think I'm going to finish drawing onto the plate tomorrow during work in the morning, so that I can go after class and use the acid when no one else is there. IF I still feel inspired, I can crank out all five prints and be ahead of the game, so I can start working on my final project.

Which leads me to my list of things I have to do. I'm going to Anime Expo in June.July 07. I already bought my plane ticket to LA, my ticket to the con, and a 3 X 3 art show panel.

I have five things I need to finish before the con:
1) 20pg comic to show Tokyopop. They only want to see 6-10 pages, but I want to have all 20 in case they want to look at the rest. Plus, I can then post it on my website! I've set three goals: The pencils must be done by the end of April (i've got 5 pages out of 20 penciled right now), Inks must be done at the end of May, which gives me all of June almost to transfer it to the computer and tone/word bubble.

2)Gankutsuou Print- 12 X 18. This is my final project for my etching class. It's going to have most of the gankutsuou characters (all the kids and most of the parents). IT's going to be incredibly labor intensive, which is why I really want to finish my other etching print this weekend and GITERDONE. I have at least three techniques I'm using: intaglio, aquatint and softground. I'm trying to keep with the original feel of the series and am softgruonding pattern into their clothes and hair.

Then I have three prints I'm going to try to finish before the con: Two 9 X 6 plates, one of Mograine and one of Whitemane from WoW, Scarlet Monestary Cath bosses. Also, a 9 X 12 plate of blood elf. If I don't finish these, I won't cut myself, but I'm going to try to finish it.
